Our lab mission is to conduct interdisciplinary data science research that not only advances computer science but also has significant real-world applications. We particularly focus on mining spatial and spatiotemporal data, such as GPS trajectories, earth observation imagery, geo-social media, etc. Applications include earth science, transportation, disaster management, public safety, etc. Our works have been published in the top data mining conferences and journals such as ACM International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (SIGKDD), IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), IEEE Transactions on Big Data (TBD). Our research is sponsored by both federal agencies (NSF, UCAR, USGS) and industry company.
